Flooring Estimate Worksheet Software: the CFE Estimate Quote
The Estimate Quote is the one-page flooring estimate at the heart of CFE - Advanced Estimating Worksheet. Each line takes the material, quantity, attic stock, labor, prep, adhesive, freight and material cost with its own gross profit, and the sheet totals labor, material, sub-contractors, tax, bond and burden into the Total Proposal Price.
The project header
Yellow cells take your input: project, location, salesman, GC company, contact, bid due date, spec sections, addendums, architect and plan date, plus Yes/No choices for FOB jobsite, furnish and install, prevailing wage, performance bond and tax exempt. The Estimate Quote Recap on the right shows material, labor, sub-contractor totals, profit % and the proposal price as you type.
The takeoff grid: every cost on one row
- Qty, units and Attic % give the material quantity
- Labor $/unit and prep $/unit with labor GP
- Material $/unit and freight $/unit with material GP
- Prep and adhesive quantities and costs per line
- Line totals and a TOTALS row that update as you type
- Insert, delete, move and duplicate rows from the ribbon
Percents can be typed as 22, 22% or 0.22, and money with or without $ and commas.
Subs, additional costs and the proposal price
Below the grid, the Sub-contractors box adds each sub's quote with your profit %. Additional/Misc covers carpet assessment fees, subsistence, travel or zone pay, disposal and moisture tests. The Proposal Price box applies tax, performance bond, contingency and burden, and shows the Total Proposal Price, plus change orders and the Total with COs.
The Profit Breakdown splits profit by labor, material, subs and misc, and the commission line follows the commission system you choose.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can CFE - Advanced Estimating Worksheet price by markup or by margin?
Yes. A Mark-up | Margin switch at the top of the Estimate Quote sets how every GP % is applied: labor, material, sub-contractors and additional items. Read profit margin vs. markup for the difference.
Does it include attic stock and waste?
Yes. Each line has an Attic % that is added to the quantity to give the material quantity to buy. Read more about the flooring waste factor and attic stock.
Can I import my takeoff quantities?
Yes. The dashboard has Import Callidus summary and Upload Existing Estimate, which reads a .cfe file, a CSV exported from CFE, or the Excel Advanced Estimating Worksheet (.xlsm).
Can I change the formulas?
The gray cells are locked formulas so an estimate cannot be broken by accident. Click one and the formula bar shows the formula. Formulas open for editing only in DEV mode with a master password.
Does the Estimate Quote work after the free trial?
Yes. In Limited Mode after the trial, the Estimate Quote still works: new, open, edit, calculate, save and Save as PDF.
